Spend an interesting day touring the back roads through logging
country to an old growth forest. Along the way, we'll make several stops to discuss
modern and historic commercial logging. The day is capped by a short hike through an
old growth forest to see the world's tallest coast Douglas Fir (reaching 329'). All-day. |

A leisurely hour's drive inland through pastoral valleys ends at
the foothills of the Coast Range to the foot of two of Coos County's most beautiful and
accessible waterfalls. We'll talk about local geology and natural history along the
way, as well as delight in the fragrance of the myrtlewood trees and enjoy the drastic

From massive dunes inching across the country-side to seasonal
wetlands, we can help you explore the many enticing environments of our dramatic dunes.
The best option is to combine short hikes in several different kinds of dunes
environments to explore the plant and animal communities. Discover the ever-changing
processes of the dunes formation and changes and experience the high drama of the Oregon

Learn about the luxuriant, fascinating estuary of Coos Bay from the
best vantage point possible—the water! This three-hour boat trip up and back
down Coos Bay is the exciting venue to learning about the vibrant and critical ecosystems
of the estuary (where fresh and salt water mix) and the human interactions with it.
